This is a big bold name for a big bold cookbook. The Great American Cookbook, that just sounds super impressive. It boasts five hundred recipes representing every state. That is an amazing undertaking.
This book has actually been in print before. Released as How America Eats back in 1960, it details some of the country’s best food. Now, some thirty years later, Author Clementine Paddleford’s classic is available again. This version has been enhanced and updated for today’s cooking realities.
As any cook, chef or eater knows, this country is jammed packed with interesting and diverse cuisine from coast to coast. Capturing a good chunk of that in one place makes this book a cooking resource that should stand the test of time.
